A customer sent us an email along with photographs of a completed home improvement project. We had assisted him with the project by sharing our expertise and supplying the wrought iron European Welcome Mat that he craftily used to create a pot rack. It turned out very nicely. We don't always get to see the finished projects that we have been a part of and thought we'd share the email and a photo with you.

To:  Iron Accents Designer Terri Winans

As promised, I’m sending you a few pictures of the pot rack we fashioned from the European welcome mats. Though not all the copper is displayed yet, I think these five pictures will give you a good 360 of the end product. Nothing about this ensemble was intended to be part of a pot rack. The main supports attached to the mats were bought at a feed and horse equipment store on Hwy 306; the anchors screwed into the ceiling beams and the connectors that attach to them are actually stainless steel, which I spray painted with a flat black, high heat product used on car headers and manifolds. They all came together quite nicely, with the added advantage that I have plenty of room between the pot rack and the ceiling to hold lids and other items that can’t be hung on the rack.

In case you’re wondering, the white ceramic bowl, though seemingly out of place with all the copper, is actually part of a three piece copper group used for making various types of candy. I have no intention of making candy; I’m quite content nibbling out of a box of Godiva chocolate. I’m easy to please.

Thanks again for all your help with this project. And, if any of your future clients want something special, that they’ll not see in any other house (unless they come to my house), feel free to use the design.

Hope to see you in the future………….

Dan B.

We just got back from the Summer 2010 Home & Gift Show in Atlanta. We always find new items and gather new ideas on our shopping trips. But, one item especially caught our attention this time. We found these cute lights that you can decorate and use in so many ways. We are excited to offer our online customers these Silicone Dipped Bulbs for the holidays and everyday home decorating.

Silicone bulbs are adorable and so versatile you'll want to use them throughout the year. Use them in mantle-pieces, nightlights, string lights, sconces, candelabras, and chandeliers.

Here are a few ideas we gathered at the show:

Spray paint an old inexpensive chandelier found at a thrift store in black. Add the Ghost Glow Silicone Dipped Bulbs for a spooky Halloween.

Window candelabras look inviting throughout the year and are so much fun to dress up for the holidays. Use Pumpkin Bulbs in October. Tie a loden green scarf around each individual pillar. Change the look in the winter with the Snowman Bulb in a bright red tie.

Replace every third bulb in traditional string lights that you would use indoors only. (The bulbs are not guaranteed for outdoor use.)
Use Soft Tipped Candle Glow Light Bulbs for a warm country look for everyday or special events. Tie ribbons on the pillars to match your theme.

Got any ideas you'd like to share? How are you decorating with Silicone Dipped Bulbs? Drop us an email with a photograph if you have one.

Creativity Shines with Lighted Floral Branches
A product line of battery and electrical lighted floral branches

It's an ancient desire to capture star light and mix it with natural earth elements. The Babylonians created hanging gardens as much for enjoyment in the evening as in the day. Europeans gave us Christmas trees, and who doesn’t appreciate pretty lights flickering among the branches of a yuletide tree? Only the Grinch dislikes bright evergreens. Home designers have been using lights with florals for centuries and with increasing enthusiasm because of the vast array of illuminated floral products available.

Due to popularity, we've just added several new styles to our growing collection of Lighted Floral Branches, including Christmas and Hanukkah styles to give you a head start. Designers are using our entire line of lighted floral branches throughout the year at special events, in centerpieces, for interiors, and on decks and patios--even boats. We now offer thirty-two styles to spark your creativity.

We have discovered so many uses for lighted branches and florals. Use our crystal sprays as the jewelry to pair with lighted branches and florals. Or use our string lights to illuminate your silk and fresh flower arrangements. String lights, lighted branches, and illuminated florals are pliable and easy to use. They bend to shape with beautiful results.

Our Home Designer at Iron Accents and manufacturers of Lighted Floral Branches share ideas for decorating.

(ARA) - Every few years we paint them, and they sure do make a convenient spot on which to hang our flat panel TVs. Nevertheless, how much do we really think about our walls?

Walls are, arguably, the largest decorator element in your home. Many of us, however, rarely venture beyond using them as background for our furniture and accessories. With a little encouragement and creativity, you can turn your walls into a bold design statement in your home. You might appreciate the advice of a designer, but you will not need the budget of a home-improvement show to look at your walls in a completely new light.

Here are some hot trends and ideas to consider if you're thinking of redesigning your walls:

* More than ever, Americans are aware we're all part of a global community and our pride in that fact can be seen in the trend toward using elaborate wall art. Wall art can reflect our heritage or interests and is appropriate in virtually any room of the house.

Love Italian sculpture?

Consider placing this Roman Fruit Bowl in your entryway, either built on or recessed into the wall.

Proud of your French heritage? Grace a family room wall with a Fleur De Lis Wall Grill.

The fleur de lis is closely associated with the nation of France.
*Pictures may be worth a thousand words, but one hot trend turns words into graphic art to charm friends and family. Box Signs are humorous sayings or heart-warming quotes that function as graphic elements in your room enhancing your overall theme.

The quote not only makes a visually appealing focal point for the room, it tells visitors something about who you are as well.

* When you think about hanging tapestry in a room, are you thinking just of textiles and pretty weaves? Tin metal can be an exciting substitute for a hanging tapestry.

Tin Wall Tapestry adds punch to decor.

* Wall Silhouettes continue to be a favorite decorating tool of interior designers and homeowners alike, and it's easy to see why. Few wall treatments make as definitive a statement as silhouettes. They fit in virtually every room setting and you'll find designs on web sites like http://www.ironaccents.com/. For under a hundred dollars, you can choose to highlight an array of sports - baseball, basketball, golf, soccer, and football. You can custom paint them to match your décor or team colors.

* Wall color will always be important. Fortunately, some trends also show signs of design longevity, like using interesting neutrals on walls to create a pleasing, complementary background for your decor. Pair this small Dublin Tower Clock shown in Gold Copper Beige finish on a gray wall.

Designers agree that gray is the new beige, and the most interesting home designs mix the tones gray and beige to create the ultimate blend of warm and cool.

* Across our culture, concern for economy has Americans doing less with more. An emerging design trend incorporates a few big, bold pieces of wall decor in an otherwise minimalist setting to create maximum impact with a minimum number of pieces.

This 72" Renaissance Wall Medallion makes a visually appealing focal point in an otherwise sparsely filled room.
